For this performance at the Amity Gallery, Marji (voice & guitar) will be joined by two longtime musical friends and collaborators, Jim Kunkel on guitar and Mike LaRocco on percussion, for an evening of songs chosen for their beauty, humanity, and the stories they tell.

 

Surrounded by the evocative artwork on the walls, they’ll share songs by writers whose music has become part of Marji’s musical landscape—including Jim, E.C. Lorick, Don Sparks, and Michael Fracasso—as well as some carefully chosen favorites by other writers they love.

 

Amity Gallery has been a meaningful musical home for Marji over the years, so she’s especially happy to bring another part of her musical life into this creative space. Several women from Marji’s Friday music gatherings—affectionately dubbed “Magical Fridays”—will return to the Gallery for a few songs (they last performed here in April 2025). You’ll hear exactly why these weekly gatherings are so magical.
